They ["spg
members," Rus
Dunbar and Laura
Joyner] tried to file a complaint at the Groton Police
Department against me on Saturday 9/14, the day after (?)
they got a copy of those emails. But the effort didn't
fly. If the person who went in to file the complaint [Rus]
hadn't gotten the cop he did, the effort wouldn't have
even gone as far as it did. "He" [Rus] was
someone I'd called on his cell phone the afternoon before.
I left a 2 sentence message. He called me back and we
talked for about 45 minutes to an hour, I think. A ways
through [Laura Joyner] came outside to the deck from where
he was making the call. The person I was talking [Rus] to
tried to talk about the emails but I explained that I
didn't send him any emails so there were no emails to
discuss with him.
I got a call from
Groton Police the next day saying that he [Rus] later went
into the police station and tried to file a complaint
against me that "if you call or email him [Rus] again
you'll be arrested." I explained to the police
officer that, since his phone call to me came after and
was much longer than mine to him, there was no
justification for a complaint there.
The officer was also
under the impression that the emails that had been brought
in had been sent to either the person who had come into
the station [Rus] or to his mistress [Laura Joyner]. He
admitted he hadn't really looked at who the the emails had
been sent to but he had copies there. He was also supposed
to call other people and warn and threaten them, as well.
Purely in the interest of public service, I explained to
him how acting on an unjustified complaint could be
considered police harrassment.
The complaint was
never logged = voided. The notation on the voided
complaint [is "must be filed in Stonington"]
