Detail
of these incidents
-
On
Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/02, just a little over three months
after Dave's abduction, an email was received by me:
Subject: ***Serendipity***
Date: Thu, 28 Nov 2002 12:03:12 -0500
From:"Howdy" <how_dy_loves_jsu@yahoo.com>
To: "University-Office-Home-Worldwide" <how_dy_loves_jsu@yahoo.com>
that,
among a great
deal of other things,
included a number of "suggestive" images, for
example:
-
Later
that day, there is reason to believe that a ransom had been
paid, by members of the community, for 5 (?) victims,
including Dave
There
is also reason to strongly suspect that ransom payments may have been
collected from two or more separate parties who were unaware that the
other parties were also paying for the ransom of these victims
There
is reason to believe that Sal,
Dave's estranged wife, at the time, who very soon after
appeared to be obviously working with or for the spg,
may have posed as a victim, herself, and one of the
"victims" for which a ransom was paid, and with
whom Dave was to leave after being ransomed
There
is reason to believe that Dave was "released" to Sal
and, in doing so, the attempt to get him freed, by
paying that ransom, failed

-
12/04/02 - Medical help needed?
There was later evidence
that the situation was the same for at least two other of
the possibly "ransomed" victims
The
full account of this may not be added to the web site
Events leading up to these incidents
Significance
Whether
or not this is true, such a possible scenario illustrates why
attempting to pay ransom to get victims freed
-
provides
a means for perpetrators to generate additional revenue from
slavery activities
-
creates
incentive for perpetrators to also have imposters pose as slavery
victims, which can, thus, help reduce concern for actual slavery
victims
-
should
be seen as something that actually promotes, supports, and
possibly even protects, slavery activity
-
